Funeral Advice You Can Trust

Funeral Consumers Alliance of SE Florida is a non-profit organization of area residents dedicated to helping our neighbors make funeral arrangements that are dignified, meaningful, and affordable.

We achieve this goal through consumer education outreach, including group presentations, printed materials, personal consultations, and member benefits. We serve residents in seven counties in SE Florida plus some outlying areas.

Founded in 1968, the FCA of SE Florida is one of 120 similar groups across the country, supported by the national Funeral Consumers Alliance. We are run solely by volunteers and have no attachment to the funeral industry or any religious group. Our membership is open to all. Simply put, we are a group of people who have learned about planning funerals through personal experience, and we would like to share our knowledge with you.

"Thanks to your organization, a difficult time for our family was made easier, less stressful, and certainly much more affordable. We are truly grateful."

Did You Know?

  • Most individuals never share their funeral or burial wishes with their family members. FCASEF members receive forms and instructions on how to communicate this information, sparing relatives from difficult, expensive decisions.
  • The average cost of a "traditional" funeral in the U.S. is now over $6,000. Educated funeral consumers usually purchase simpler services for a fraction of the cost.
  • Embalming and fancy caskets are not required for cremation or burial. FCASEF members avoid unnecessary procedures and expenses by being informed and by pre-planning.
  • When a body is not displayed, memorial services can be held almost anywhere. FCASEF members learn about various options, including community halls, churches, synagogues, and parks.
  • Your safety deposit box is a poor place to store your funeral instructions. FCASEF members learn whom to notify before the time of death.
