I. Bequeathal of body for teaching purposes, medical research, and study. Special embalming is required. No viewing of remains. Expense of transportation to the medical center is to be paid by family or next-of-kin. Prior arrangements with the University is required. $700
II. Direct Cremation of remains. Ashes will be returned to the family in a pressed-paper container routinely supplied by the crematory. $540
III. Ship-Out. Embalm the remains, enclose in the minimum shipping container required by regulation and deliver to the air freight terminal for out-of-state shipment. Air transportation and expenses of disposition at the other end are additional and are to be paid by the family. $810
IV. Immediate Burial. Embalm the remains, if necessary to meet legal or cemetery requirements, place the body in a modest casket of minimum cost, and deliver to the cemetery. No public viewing or funeral procession. The cost of the cemetery lot, vault, and charges for opening and closing the grave are an additional expense to the family. Travel outside Lee and Charlotte Counties will incur extra charges.$775
For Collier County, there is no pick-up charge if facilities are used in Naples. If facilities are to be used in Ft. Myers, there is a small additional charge. For Hendry County, there is a small additional pick-up charge.
All these alternatives presume that any desired memorial or funeral service will be arranged directly with a member of the clergy or other person and that remains will not be present. Such a service may be held at a church, social hall, or private home. Any additional services of the funeral director must be specifically requested and individually contracted. All charges are expected to be paid by the next-of-kin or family at the time services are provided.
