- The Stanislaus Memorial Society is a 501(c)3, non-profit, non-sectarian association incorporated in California in 1968 to help its members obtain simple, dignified, inexpensive arrangments for burial or cremation
- Society members are provided reduced rates with a local mortuary
- The Society is not a business; it does not sell insurance or pre-paid burial plans. Its orientation is toward consumer protection and education. It is administered by an upaid board of directors which is elected at its fall meeting
