Funeral advice you can trust

The Funeral Consumers Alliance of WNC is a cooperative, non-profit, non-sectarian organization of area residents dedicated to helping our neighbors make funeral arrangements that are dignified, meaningful and affordable..

We achieve this goal through consumer education outreach, including group presentations, printed materials, personal consultations, local price surveys, and membership benefits.

We serve residents generally from Black Mountain, NC, west, between the Tennessee and South Carolina borders. We accommodate others outside these limits when possible.

We were incorporated in 1978 under the name Blue Ridge Memoral Society, networked nationally under the Funeral Consumers Alliance, Inc, which is headquartered in South Burlington, VT.   Encouraged by the national office, in 2001, we officially changed our name to Funeral Consumers Alliance of Western North Carolina.

We are run solely by volunteers and have no attachment to the funeral industry. Our membership is open to all. Our annual meetings are held in the spring in Asheville.

Simply put, we are a group of people who have learned about planning funerals though personal experience, and we would like to share our knowledge with you.
