My mother in Raleigh, NC was recently cremated. City of Oaks Cremation handled the arrangements and the funeral director suggested I work with my mother’s minister for the memorial service. I think we paid just under $1200 for everything. The funeral director was extremely helpful and I never felt pressured to spend a lot of money. The one thing my husband was impressed with; when the funeral director came to the house later that morning to have us sign some papers… he brought a half dozen donuts for us. 

When my brother passed, we used City of Oaks Cremation as well. I agree with the previous post... No pressure at all. They made the process fairly simple to go through; suprisingly, we had the urn and the death certificates back in two or three days. I totally understand why so many people are choosing cremations now.

We used City of Oaks Funeral Home too. They did a great job. We had my moms urn back three days after she passed. We called around checking on cost... no one was even close after you include everything that is needed. Our total cost was under $1200.oo

I'm not a big fan of City of Oaks Funeral Home - I didn't like the fact that Mom was picked up in a SUV rather than a hearse. The funeral director told me they always use a SUV or mini van type vehicle to pick up families loved ones when someone passes but I would have rather had a hearse come for her.

I also didn't like the fact it took a whole week to get the death certificates back - seemed like a long time before I could get the insurance money.

I did appreciate the donuts and the fact that I could pay over 30 days and they didn't make us pay that day.
